Ill be honest with you I really dont know the rules on various positions, but I thought many people serve on multiple boards or commitees. View Comment
Business as usual here in the mighty town of Grafton.
Shelter not expected to be open (during an impending blizzard)
Pets not allowed...Probably need a thousand meetings to get this to fly...
Too busy with the RR case they are gonna lose and then go around begging for help with the legal expenses like our next door neighbors.
nevermind they will just raise the taxes ...again
Bunch of clowns...

GRAFTON, Mass. — The Grafton Board of Selectmen voted on Tuesday to set up an emergency pet shelter in the Veteran’s Memorial Hall of the Municipal Center pending final approval from local veteran organizations.
If the location is approved, household pets such as cats, dogs, and birds will be caged and placed in the hallway just outside the gymnasium where owners would stay during a weather emergency. Service animals, such as dogs for the blind, would be allowed to stay with their owner in the main shelter. Farm animals like cows and horses would not be allowed.
“Many people died in Hurricane Katrina because there was no place for pets in shelters,” said Clare Garabedian, emergency shelter manager and deputy director of the Grafton Emergency Management Agency. She said it is common for people to not seek shelter during emergencies because many treat their pets as if they were children.
Garbedian and fellow Deputy Director Nicholas J. Child, said a volunteer organization, the Central Massachusetts Disaster Animal Response Team (CMDART), will set up the cages and provide the clean-up after the shelter is closed. They said the pet owners would be responsible for vaccinations, food, medicine, leashes, and collars. They also said the pet’s name must be on the collar and, as a safety measure, a photograph will be taken to avoid any confusion of ownership.
Owners must also bring their pet’s medical records. If a pet is not up to date on their vaccinations, then a team from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts would help out at the owner’s expense.
The location was chosen because the pets would be near their owner and on a ground level, next to an exit.
Garbedian said there would be no additional cost to the town since it would only be open when people need shelter and the work would be done by volunteers.
Child said the pet shelter is not a requirement but a recommendation from the federal government as a “standard of care issue”.
The number of animals the hallway could hold would be determined by a representative of CMDART.
Selectman Brook Padgett recommended that Child and Garbedian check with the local veteran organizations in case there were any objections about the spot. If so, he said another hallway for the pets would be found.

It is going to be pretty obvious that the town powers knew about this and were going to let it fly unless people (residents) made some noise. If you think that Berger and his secret spotter is going to drive by the RR site and not question what is going on there, considering the massive accumulation of mountains of earth, and significanr excavation is ludicris View Comment
why doesn't the town just buy a bus? It's not that much money...then hire some people to drive the bus. Collect bus fees and put towards bus stuff...shelters etc...also place local ads on bus from buisinessess in towns to help with more bus stuff instead of paying 102k for nothing.
I must be missing something it cant be that simple or cheap

I saw a seal once. Saw a seal in South Grafton. Seal was sitting there near some tracks. Train tracks not seal tracks. Dont see a lot of seals in these parts. Maybe the seal I saw was in Sutton. View Comment

we need to get to the bottom of this sign issue! who put the signs up? who authorized these signs? are the signs safe? what are they made from? why is there a seal in town, and who pays to feed it? can these signs be reused in case the railroad wants to get nuclear storage containers? View Comment
2 days and no new news...that is impressive. every other news source on the planet has new stories except this one. just like on Saturdays and Sundays with the voice, nothing seems to happen. View Comment
Ok I will slow down for you...this probably isn't the first time the BOS heard of the tanks, propane, etc... Delli Priscoli has been talking about these things for sometime, and some selectmen have gone to Upton's meetings to see how things were handled there (pellet fuel or what ever that case was). The bottom line is the guy bought a railroad not a model train and he wants to make money and anyone who thought "oh how cute little Jon bought a railroad to play with" is just plain dumb.
It is simple to stay up to date just read the paper Mikey, this one, the T-G, or many others.
ps oh yeah...michael b is a clown View Comment
Ishmeal...very very good, and yes us. The longer it goes the more he will, and then he will civil suit the clowns and most likley win.
As for Bergermeister cut him some slack, please, he has been very very busy with back yard chickens, and the occasional lawsuit to to oust the seventh chicken from town.
oh yeah

Good blast the town...I don't blame this guy one bit, furthermore once he is done winning this case...I will guarranty he will recoop every last cent from the town for delays etc... also good for him also but bad for most of us cuz there go the taxes again. The Officials (not including the Police and Fire) have a habit of pushing people around under the guise of the public's best interest. Many of these people still suffering the effects of a rough time in high school, grade school, etc... pushed around and not voted a superlative.
The only issue I am concerned about is the age of the tanks, I would bet the guy had them inspected.
Gonna go to my fallout shelter for a bit....hahaha
