Auburn Sports Teams Gear Up For Busy Week

AUBURN, Mass. – The Auburn High School sports teams have a full slate of action this week, facing rival teams in what should be some intense action.   

Here’s a look at the sports calendar for the week ahead:

Boys Varsity Cross Country – The runners face Millbury High School in their first home meet of the season. The starting gun will fire at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Auburn Middle School.

Girls Varsity Cross Country – The girls will join the boys in the first home meet of the season on Wednesday. Their race is also scheduled for 3:30 p.m. against Millbury.

Boys Varsity Football – The four-time defending Super Bowl champions will hit the road for the first time on Saturday night. The game at St. Peter-Marian High School in Worcester kicks off at 7 p.m.

Boys Varsity Golf – The golf squad starts its week Monday at home against Bartlett High School at 3 p.m. The team also plays Wednesday at Grafton at 3 p.m.

Boys Varsity Soccer – The soccer team is looking to get over its “growing pains,” says head coach Christopher Bailey. The team’s busy week begins Monday at home against Uxbridge High School at 7 p.m. Then the boys host Hudson on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The team then hits the road for a rare Saturday game against Oxford at 2:45 p.m.

Girls Varsity Soccer – The Division 2 State Champions will be away for three games, starting on Monday at 3:30 p.m. against Uxbridge. The team continues its busy week on Tuesday at 7 p.m. versus Hudson. Then the girls finish up their week on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. against Millbury.  

Girls Varsity Field Hockey – The field hockey team will see if it can continue its defensive dominance. The team will start the week on the road Monday versus Uxbridge at 3:30 p.m. Then the girls will come home for a Wednesday matchup against Doherty at 3:30 p.m.
