Auburn High Teams Gear Up For Action-Packed Week

AUBURN, Mass. – The Auburn High School sports teams should be exhausted by the end of the week as many squads play three games in the first full week of the season.

Here’s a look at the sports calendar for the week ahead:

Boys Varsity Cross Country – The runners head to Uxbridge for their second meet. The starting gun will fire at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The boys are coming off an impressive win over Quaboag, 15-50.

Girls Varsity Cross Country – The girls will join the boys on the trip to Uxbridge for the second meet on Wednesday. Their race is also scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The girls are looking to continue their first-meet dominance when they won, 15-48, against Quaboag.

Boys Varsity Football – The four-time defending Super Bowl champions will host Holliston on Friday. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. The team is coming off a dominant 28-6 victory over Shrewsbury.

Boys Varsity Golf – The golf squad starts its busy week Monday against Uxbridge.

The team also plays Tuesday at home versus Shrewsbury and Friday away at Millbury. All matches begin at 3 p.m.

Boys Varsity Soccer – The soccer team is looking to rebound from its season-opening loss to Leicester. The team’s action-packed week begins Monday at Northbridge.

Then the boys head to Quaboag on Wednesday, followed by a trip to Southbridge on Friday. All games start at 3:30 p.m.

Girls Varsity Soccer – The girls’ squad is looking to build off its season opening 3-0 victory over Leicester. The Division 2 State Champions will be at home for three games, starting on Monday at 3:30 p.m. against Northbridge.

The team continues its busy week on Wednesday at 7 p.m. versus Quaboag. Then the girls finish up the week on Friday at 3:30 p.m. against Southbridge.

Girls Varsity Field Hockey – The field hockey team will see if it can replicate last week’s dominant performance when they trounced Leicester, 10-0. The team will be away for three games beginning Monday at Northbridge.

Then the girls will travel to Quaboag on Wednesday and Southbridge on Friday. All games start at 3:30 p.m.
