AUBURN, Mass. — A series of forums and informative displays on the Auburn Middle School construction project are planned for February.
Approval for the Auburn Middle School Building Project will go before Town Meeting members at the Annual Town Meeting on May 7 and before Auburn voters at the Annual Town Elections on May 21.
In November, the Auburn Board of Selectmen voted to approve use of a debt exclusion funding plan for the new school on West Street.
A majority of residents must approve the funding of the project on a ballot question and a two-thirds approval is required by Town Meeting members.
The Community Outreach Subcommittee of the Auburn School Building Committee is working to provide comprehensive information to Auburn voters.
Presentations will include an introduction by Superintendent Maryellen Brunelle, a PowerPoint that shows drawings of the new Auburn Middle School, presentations by representatives of Skanska and Lamoureux Pagano and Associates, as well as a question-and-answer session.
Displays will include poster board drawings of the new Auburn Middle School and, once completed, a streaming video of the 3-D renderings playing on television. Copies of updated fliers will also be available by early March.
The committee encourages residents to attend one or more of these upcoming events:
