AUBURN, Mass. — Six students from Auburn High School participated in the Massachusetts Music Educators Central District concert Saturday at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.

Auburn students included Jeanelle Wheeler on clarinet; Matthew Festa, timpani; Matthew Bissallion, french horn; Connie Chung , french horn; Megan Johnson, voice; and Eric Lier, trumpet.

Their teachers, fine arts director and choral director Charles Pietrello and band director Virginia Bailey, said they were proud of the students "as they represented Auburn High School in a very positive light."

The students received their music in December and attended two rehearsals with other high school musicians from Central Massachusetts before the performance, added Pietrello.

Chung will also participate in the Massachusetts Music Educators Association All State Conference in Boston from Feb. 28 through March 2, where she will join other talented high school musicians from all over the state.
