AUBURN, Mass. – Off-duty Auburn Police Sgt. Kenneth Charlton saw three men breaking into a car last week at CVS and was instrumental in their arrest, Auburn Detective Sgt. Jeffrey Lourie reported.
Auburn Police Department responded to a report of an auto break-in Monday, July 9, at approximately 6:45 p.m. at the CVS Pharmacy at 676 Southbridge St.
The crime was witnessed by Charlton. When on-duty officers arrived, all three suspects were located and arrested.
The three are accused of taking a purse and cell phone before fleeing to the rear of the building, police said. They were identified as:
–Zachary Adams, 19, of 79 Brookfield Road, Charlton;
–Jared Forand, 19, of 79 Brookfield Road, Charlton;
–Edmond Pelletier, 17, of 37 Cummings Road, North Oxford
They are being charged with breaking and entering daytime for felony, and larceny over $250.
