AUBURN, Mass. - A diesel fuel spill in Auburn on Wednesday caused a minor motorcycle accident and traffic backup, but no injuries were reported from the Auburn Fire Department.

Traffic was reduced to one westbound lane on Route 20 between Appleton Road and the intersection of Routes 12 and 20 just before noon Wednesday after the diesel fuel spill. According to officials, an unknown vehicle spilled the fuel on the stretch of roadway, which caused the motorcycle to lose control on the slick roadway.

The Auburn Fire Department and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation responded to the spill and contained and covered the fuel using speedy dry. The operator of the motorcycle was not injured and declined medical treatment on scene.
