AUBURN, Mass. – Robert P. Geddes, a 47-year resident of Auburn, died Feb. 5 at UMass Memorial Medical Center after an illness. He was 75.

He was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Cambridge, Mass., to Paul W. and Gladys M. Dowsing Geddes. Educated in Worcester schools, Geddes worked as a mechanic and later as the parts manager at Acura of Auburn for many years. He retired in 2000.

Geddes was a member of the Citizens Emergency Response Team in Auburn. An avid NASCAR fan, he served as an official at the Stafford Springs Race Track at one time. He was a collector of "N Scale" model trains.

He also delivered meals on wheels in his spare time. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Cialone Geddes; three children, Penny Berry and her partner, Ralph Kennedy, Paul (Deborah) Geddes and Lynn (Dan) Largesse, all of Auburn; a sister, Carol Chaffee, of West Boylston, Mass.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Warren Geddes; and a sister, Marilyn Kennelly.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Congregational Church in Auburn. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
