Obituary: Kenneth F. “Kenny” Conner, 60

LEICESTER, Mass. - Kenneth F. “Kenny” Conner, 60, of Leicester, formerly of Auburn and Worcester, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Kenny leaves his cousin and caregiver, Robert “Bob” Szklarz and his wife, Marion with whom he made his home with in Leicester. He also leaves behind Bob and Marion’s children, Matthew, Peter and his wife, Deena and their son, Ryan, Stephanie and her fiance, Ryan Conley, whom he lovingly referred to as his nieces and nephews; many loving cousins including, Geraldine and Paul Jaworski of Auburn, Daniel and Carmella Szklarz of Worcester, Donna Anger and her husband, Norman of Sutton, Judith Fritz and her husband, Ken of Philadelphia, PA, and James Sklarz of Worcester; two aunts, Phyllis Sklarz of Worcester and Doris Connor of Hopkinton; a special friend, John Lauria of Worcester; and several wonderful neighbors and caring friends.

He was born in Worcester on June 30, 1952, the only child of the late Irving L. and Adeline (Szklarz) Conner. In Kenny’s early years he attended The Mercy Centre in Worcester and later participated in the sheltered workshops at the Seven Hills Foundation for over 30 years.

Kenny was a happy person throughout his life, he especially enjoyed watching movies and listening to his radio. He attended BAMSI which was a social program for disadvantaged adults on Saturday’s. He also was very patriotic, and loved the American flag. If he saw a flag in distress in any way, he always made sure it was fixed.

He brought so much love and laughter to everyone he touched, he had nothing but kindness in his heart. Kenny loved all his family and looked forward to all the family gatherings, where he quickly became the life of the party. He was especially excited when summer came around and the family took their annual vacation to his favorite spot, York, Maine

Kenny’s family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and lately the VNA Care Network and Hospice and the special team from Tri Valley Inc., for all their compassionate care shown to Kenny throughout his life.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kenny’s family on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. His funeral will be on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St North, Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
