LEICESTER/AUBURN, Mass. - Irene V. (Jodoin) Wolanski, 80, of 14 Masonic Circle, formerly of Leicester, died Monday, Aug. 20 at UMASS Memorial Campus in Worcester.
She was the wife of John B. Wolanski who died in 1993.
She leaves her daughter Donna M. Corey and her husband C. Kenneth of Putnam, Ct., her twin sister Pauline Perreault and her husband Arthur of Davenport, Iowa, three grandchildren Carl, Curtis and Candice and eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Aime A. and Laura (Lavallee) Jodoin.
Irene was the president of the Resident’s Association at Auburn Life Care and previously the vice president of the Tenant’s Organization at the Leicester Housing where she resided for 12 years.
She was a member of the Leicester Senior Citizen Club, and Friends of the Elders. She loved playing BINGO
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 from the Morin-Morrison Funeral Home, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 7p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
