AUBURN, Mass. – Lillian E. Chilton Dyson formerly of Auburn died Jan. 13. She was 91.
Dyson was born March 26, 1921, in Worcester to George and Martha Chilton. She attended Worcester schools and graduated from Worcester’s High School of Commerce.
In 1941, she married Thomas Dyson and moved to Auburn, where they made their home for more than 30 years.
She was employed by Botuck’s Paint and Wallpaper store, the Worcester Music Company and the Dauphinais Concrete Company before retirement. In 1983, she and her husband moved to the Massachusetts Berkshires.
They enjoyed downhill and cross country skiing but also to live close to their daughter, Christine Hughes, and her family. She was most recently of Dalton, Mass.
Dyson is survived by a son, John (Kathleen); a son-in-law John “Jack” Hughes; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband died in 1997. She was also predeceased by her daughter Christine Hughes and two brothers, Joseph and Walter.
Services will be private. Callahan Fay Brothers Funeral Home in Worcester is handling arrangements.
