WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- Those in Central Massachusetts looking romance and fame could get a chance at both Saturday in Westborough. Open auditions for ABC's "The Bachelor" will be held at Bernie & Phyl's Furniture on Route 9 East from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Both men and women can audition for the reality series, and no pre-registration is required.

According to store manager Tim Hill, this will be the first time the furniture chain's Westborough location will be used for auditions. However, Bernie & Phyl's, which is partnering with WCVB, ABC's Boston affiliate, has hosted auditions for other shows including "The Amazing Race" at other locations.

"The Bachelor" which first aired in 2002, pits 25 single woman in an elimination competition to woo one single man. It is most recognizable for the "rose ceremony," where the bachelor decides which woman stays for another round and who goes home.

Bernie & Phyl's spokesperson Michelle Sutherland said there will be three stations at the store where interviews lasting about three to four minutes each. Potential cast members will then be called back for further auditions.

In order to be eligible, applicants must be at least 21 and single, have not ever been convicted of a felony, or candidate for any political office. A full list of eligibility requirements can be found here.

The store will be open during auditions. Other "Bachelor" auditions are being held at locations across the country this summer.
