VIDEO: Winds Pick Up By Farmer's Daughter In Auburn

AUBURN, Mass. – The wind gusts are starting to increase in Auburn as Hurricane Sandy makes a stronger impact, highlighted by the wind shrieks in the above video near Farmer's Daughter on Millbury Street.

The video was shot at 1:30 p.m. by The Daily Voice, and wind speeds are expected to rise throughout the afternoon. The National Weather Service predicts wind speeds from Hurricane Sandy will reach their peak of 36 mph in Auburn between 4 and 5 p.m. Wind gusts are estimated to reach as high as 60 mph.

From 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service predicts 1.08 inches of rain for Auburn with more rain predicted.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Southern New England in expectation of damaging winds and power outages. The warning will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday, at which point wind speeds are expected to have subsided.
