AUBURN, Mass. - As of 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, National Grid has reported that 895 customers in Auburn or 12 percent, are still without power, according to a memo from the town.  At this time yesterday, 1,006 customers were without power.  National Grid officials have stated that they anticipate that all affected customers will likely be restored by Thursday, September 1 if not sooner.

National Grid reports that 165,000 customers in Massachusetts are without power.  Those areas that were hardest hit were in the Western part of the state and the Fall River and Attleboro area as well as pockets throughout Central Massachusetts.

National Grid has crews working throughout Central Massachusetts to restore power to those targeted areas that have the greatest number of affected customers first. National Grid has 54 internal and 54 contracted crews working in Central and Western Massachusetts. Once the areas with large outages have been restored, they will focus on isolated and single customers within affected communities.

Town of Auburn officials continue to communicate regularly with National Grid to stay apprised of the status of the outages and the estimated restoration schedule.

The Town’s Emergency Management Department encourages you to reach out to friends, family members and neighbors to check on their well-being.  Residents in need of emergency services, please contact (508) 832-7777.
