AUBURN, Mass. - According to National Grid officials, 44 percent of the customers in Auburn or 3,343 residents still do not have power.
There are seven crews in town today working to restore additional customers. National Grid expects to restore an additional 65,000 customers across Central Massachusetts today. National Grid officials estimate that many customers in Auburn may be restored by Wednesday evening, with full restoration estimated by Thursday evening.
National Grid electric customers can call their 24-hour Customer Service Center: 1-800-465-1212 to report power outages 1-800-322-3223 for all other calls. For those who are able to access the internet, outages may be reported and additional information may be found on National Grid’s website.National Grid natural gas customers should call 1-800-640-1595.
Charter Communication officials have identified more than 2,500 drop lines down and are beginning to restore those where there is no safety hazard related to downed power lines.
Given the substantial tree damage blocking roads and down power lines in the region, Charter expects that some areas may be without Charter services for several days. Officials have stated they are working to restore service to customers as quickly as possible.
Charter customers without service are urged to check to see if the drop line to their house from the pole on the street is still intact. If it is not, please call Charter at 1-888- 438-2427.
Brush Pile hours of operation will be extended throughout the weekend. The Town of Auburn Brush Pile will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday for residents and property owners to dispose of the brush from their property.
