AUBURN, Mass. – You can still help Auburn's Relay for Life of Central South County by buying its Entertainment Books through Nov. 1, with all profits going to the battle against cancer.
The book has $5,000 worth of coupons for dining out, fast food and carryout, groceries, entertainment, sports, travel, hotels, shopping and services. Key Tag and Mobile apps are available to receive up to 20 percent off at participating merchants.
If you use only one or two coupons, the book pays for itself, according to the Relay for Life. Local restaurants in this year’s book include Chuck’s Steakhouse, Publick House Historic Inn, Oxhead Tavern, Spencer Country Inn, Kai Sushi Bar & Grill, The Manor and Sakura Tokyo. These are discounts of $10 to $20.
In addition, coupons are included for Crystal Caves, Twisted Fork, movie theaters, Davis Farmland, McDonald’s, Subway, Dunkin' Donuts, pizza and bowling places, car services, cleaners, travel, Ecotarium and Worcester Sharks.
The entertainment book costs $30 from Relay for Life, which is cheaper than buying it retail or ordering it direct. To purchase the book, call Chet Stencel at 508-832-4954 or email him at roechet@charter.net.
The ninth Annual Central South County Relay for Life came to Auburn on Sept. 7 and 8. The 18-hour event raised money for research and development of better cancer treatments, with the eventual goal of finding a cure.
Hundreds of residents fought cancer by walking around and around the track in Auburn’s Lemansky Park to benefit the American Cancer Society.
