AUBURN, Mass. - This year, the 3rd Annual Jules Run and Rascal Run will move to a new location at the upcoming Dr. Arthur and Dr. Martha Pappas Recreation Complex located off of 203 Pakachoag St.

The event is named in honor of Julie Mass, who battled brain cancer until her death in 2007. Each year her daughter, Kathleen Lutz of Auburn, organizes the walk in association with the Auburn Recreation and Culture Department.

"What a great way to celebrate this new park," Lutz wrote.

The event will be held June 16, starting at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

This year, Jules Run will join the "Auburn Race Series" that includes the Auburn Police Association 5k on May 6 and the Major David "Klepto" Brodeur 5K run/walk in October.

"Yes, there are now a few runs in town and we'd like to see you at all three," Lutz said.

Participants who run all three events will receive a T-shirt with the race logos.

Last year, approximately 95 adults and 40 children came out to race, raising nearly $2,500. All proceeds support the Claudia Adams Barr Program at The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Check back at TheDailyAuburn.com as race registration information becomes available.
