AUBURN, Mass. – Want to learn some recipes for the holiday season, go on a trip to New Hampshire or get your hearing screened? Then head to the Lorraine Gleick Nordgren Senior Center, 4 Goddard Drive, Auburn next month.
Hearing Screening and Discussion
On Nov. 7 at 9:30 a.m., Worcester State University Speech-Language-Pathology graduate students will lead a discussion on common causes of hearing loss and what people can do about it.
Other topics will include how to improve communicating with others who have hearing loss, the assistive devices available to improve hearing and the possible benefits of hearing aids.
There also will be an opportunity to have one’s hearing screened.
Interested seniors should pre-register or call the Auburn Senior Center at 508-832-7799.
Cooking Demo
Caroline Moorehouse, director of dining services at the Lodge at Eddy’s Pond, will present a holiday cooking demonstration at the Senior Center at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 14.
Moorehouse will be teaching “easy recipes” and “dips and tips,” according to a program flier. The featured recipes include olive oil dip, rum and pecan sandies, cheesecake brownies, cranberry pecan and goat cheese spread, assorted beverages and more.
Beacon Resort Trip
The Friends of the Auburn Senior Center Association are organizing a trip Nov. 16-18 to the Beacon Resort in Lincoln, N.H.
The three-day, two-night trip is $289 per person. Attendees get to bring home a Thanksgiving turkey.
