AUBURN, Mass. – It’s not Oct. 31 yet, but then again, it’s never too early for an Auburn youngster to put on a Halloween costume.

Auburn Cub Scout Pack 53 is inviting all boys in grades 1-5 and their families to attend its Halloween open house for new scouts on Friday, Oct. 19.

The cub scouts will hold their October pack meeting and annual Halloween party at 6:30 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 22 Faith Ave., Auburn.

The evening’s activities will include a Halloween costume parade, costume contests in numerous categories, a pie-eating contest, cake-walk game and much more.

Registration for new members will be accepted at the meeting. For more information, visit www.auburnpack53.org.

Troop 53 Yard Sale

Boy Scout Troop 53 will hold a yard sale at the Auburn Public Library on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The scouts are looking for donations of gently used household items, such as sporting goods, small furniture, books, games and toys.

The scouts ask that people do not donate TVs or computers. In addition, due to continued safety recalls, the scouts do not want baby furniture, high chairs or car seats.

All money raised from the yard sale will be used to fund scout trips and activities during the year.

Those interested in donating yard sale items should contact Diane Keyes at dmkeyes17@yahoo.com to arrange for pick-up or drop-off of items.

Troop 53 Popcorn Fundraiser

Boy Scout Troop 53 will sell popcorn at Park & Shop in Auburn on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Money raised from the annual popcorn sale supports the activities, events and overnight trips planned for the scouts of Troop 53 throughout the year. Popcorn prices vary.
