AUBURN, Mass. – Lawrence Corbin, the director of veteran services in Auburn, is encouraging veterans to attend an air show in August at Westover Air Reserve Base.
Westover, in Western Massachusetts, will host the Great New England Air Show on Aug. 4 and 5, according to Corbin.
This year’s show is called “A Salute to the Greatest Generation,” and will honor World War II veterans.
Health may be an issue for some veterans, but "if your organization has contact with veterans of this era, who are able to attend, please extend our invitation to them to join us in our VIP area," Corbin said in a press release.
Each veteran and a guest will have preferred seating, in addition to free food and beverages. They will also get to see ground displays, aircraft, ground vehicles and memorabilia of the WWII era.
Veterans who wish to attend can email budphoto@charter.net with their name, military affiliation and service information and the name and contact information of their guest. Include the day you will attend, Saturday, Aug. 4, or Sunday, Aug. 5.
Attendees' names will be on the guest list for the VIP area.
