AUBURN, Mass. – A "Deluxe Burger Cookout" with fun games is set for Monday at the Lorraine Gleick Nordgren Senior Center in Auburn.
The Friends of the Auburn Senior Center Association is hosting the event, which begins at 5 p.m. Aug. 6 at 4 Goddard Drive. The menu includes deluxe burgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad and garden salad.
The cookout costs $7 per person, and tickets can be purchased at the front desk of the center.
All proceeds benefit the Auburn Senior Center, and “they go to great use,” said Cheryl Westerman. Many programs and supplies are helped through these dinners, she said.
The senior center usually holds one fundraising dinner each month, Westerman said. About 100 people attend each dinner, raising about $700 for the senior center.
“Anybody can come out, and you’ll get plenty of food here,” she said. “We have wonderful volunteers who give a great amount of delicious food. It’s also a great way to meet new people.”
After dinner, there will be an evening of bingo. Bingo cards cost $1 each.
