AUBURN, Mass. - If you're looking to head to a cookout and play some games, the Auburn Senior Center is the place to be Monday, Aug. 6.
The Friends of the Auburn Senior Center Association will hold "Deluxe Burger Cookout" on Aug. 6 at 5 p.m. at 4 Goddard Drive. The menu includes deluxe burgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad and garden salad.
The cookout costs $7 per person, and tickets can be purchased at the front desk.
All proceeds benefit the Auburn Senior Center, and “they go to great use,” said Cheryl Westerman. Many programs and supplies are helped out by these dinners, she said.
The senior center usually has one fundraising dinner each month, Westerman said. About 100 people attend each dinner, raising about $700 for the senior center.
“Anybody can come out, and you’ll get plenty of food here,” Westerman said. “We have wonderful volunteers who give a great amount of delicious food. It’s also a great way to meet new people.”
After dinner, there will be an evening of bingo. Bingo cards cost $1 each.
