AUBURN, Mass. – The next Picasso may be walking through the halls of the Auburn Senior Center on Monday afternoons.
Residents are encouraged to head to weekly oil painting classes from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Mondays at the Lorraine Gleick Nordgren Senior Center at 4 Goddard Drive.
For the past 10 years, Becky Day has been teaching the art of oil painting on Monday afternoons in Auburn. This class is a small group setting with individualized instruction.
You may bring your own paints, canvas and tabletop easel. You can also bring a copy of an illustration you would like to work with for your painting.
“Anyone who is at a loss for subject matter need have no fear, Becky has a folder full of wonderful illustrations to choose from. If you have never tried oil painting, now might be the time to start," the Senior Center said in a statement.
Painters are invited to stop by the center between 1 and 2:30 on a Monday to find out what supplies to purchase before beginning classes.
