AUBURN, Mass. — The Auburn Chamber of Commerce will offer $13K in scholarships to graduating high school students.
The Auburn Chamber has awarded $248,000 in scholarships since 1975, and this year will award up to $8,000 in scholarships to Auburn residents.
Two types of scholarships are available to Auburn senior students.
Academic Scholarship – Awarded to a student continuing their education in an accredited post secondary school.
Career-Trade Scholarship – Awarded to a student who is going into a trade. Scholarship funds will be received solely for the purchase of tools for the trade.
Resident scholarships will be awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, community/school involvement, financial need, essay responses, and a potential interview with members of the Auburn Chamber’s School/Business Partnership Committee.
Additional scholarships will be awarded to an Auburn Chamber member and/or its employees who have a senior student continuing their education in an accredited post secondary school.
Chamber member scholarship applicants are not required to reside in the town of Auburn. The Chamber has increased its award to up to $5,000 in scholarships to children of its members.
Scholarship criteria and applications for Auburn residents are available in the guidance offices of their respective schools as well as on the Chamber website.
All applications may also be obtained by contacting Eleanor F. Houbre, Director of Chamber Services at 508-753-2924, ext. 224 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applicants are asked to review the criteria carefully to determine eligibility and to apply for the appropriate scholarship.
