AUBURN, Mass. – A Friday night football game, a visit from Santa and a patriotic public skate on Veterans Day highlight the events in Auburn this weekend. For more of what’s happening in the region, see our Events page.

Friday, Nov. 9

Auburn Football Goes for 10-0: 7 p.m. The four-time defending Super Bowl champions are on a roll this season, crushing every tough opponent on their schedule. The Auburn High School football team will look to continue its dominance against Westborough High School at home. Auburn High School, 99 Auburn St.

Saturday, Nov. 10

Santa Flies into Auburn: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Santa Claus will be making his first stop this holiday season at the Auburn Mall. Simon Kidgits Club members get to see Santa ring in the holiday season with crafts, activities, good cheer and a parade led by Santa. There will be snack and letter writing to Santa along with arts and crafts and a visit with Santa at The Children’s Place. Simon Kidgits Club offers games, discount goodies and special events. Sunday, Nov. 11

Cellphones for Soldiers DJ Skate: 2 to 4 p.m. There will be a special patriotic public skate for Veterans Day. Bring in your old cellphone (working or not) to donate to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a local charity, and receive a free public skate pass for a future visit. A live, ice-side DJ will be taking requests and playing the hottest hits. Horgan Arena is an official Cell Phones for Soldiers drop-off location and will be accepting donations throughout November. For questions, call 1-888-747-5283. Rental skates available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a $5 admission and $5 for rental skates. Horgan Arena, 400 Oxford St. N.
