What To Do In Auburn This Weekend

AUBURN, Mass. – The first basketball game of the season, Santa visiting Pakachoag Church, and a Christmas giveaway at Faith Baptist Church highlight the events in Auburn this weekend. For more of what’s happening in the region, see our Events page.

Friday, Dec. 14

Santa Visits Kids at VNA Event: 2 to 5 p.m. The Auburn VNA Health Network is inviting Auburn children to a fun time with Santa at Pakachoag Church. The event is targeted for kindergartners through second-graders, but all children are welcome. Children can meet with Santa, and refreshments will be served. Everybody who comes gets a free raffle ticket; they’ll be raffling off boys’ and girls’ bikes, helmets, games and more. Pakachoag Church, 203 Pakachoag St.

2nd Annual “Blue Out” for Basketball Season Opener: 7 p.m. The boys' basketball team will be facing the Grafton Indians in the first game of the season. It’s the second annual “Blue Out” - fans are encouraged to “come in your blue and cheer on the Auburn Rockets” in the season opener. Auburn High School, 99 Auburn St.

Saturday, Dec. 15

The Great Christmas Giveaway: Noon. This free event is for families in the town of Auburn and surrounding communities. The church will be giving away children’s clothing and toys, plus offering activities and crafts, door prizes and more. Every child who attends will receive something special to make their Christmas memorable, the church says. Faith Baptist Church, 22 Faith Ave.

“Christmas Angels”: 7 p.m. The Greater Auburn Community Chorus will present “Christmas Angels,” under the direction of Charles J. Pietrello, at Auburn High School. Tickets are $12.
