Monday, Nov. 26

Wood and Pellet Stove Safety Seminar: 6:30 p.m. The Auburn Fire Department will be sponsoring a fire safety seminar. Fire and building officials say that proper installation and maintenance of one’s wood-burning and pellet stoves are the only protection one has against accidental fires. Installation permits will be available for home owners interested in replacing a wood or pellet stove or for new installations. Auburn Public Library, 369 Southbridge St.

Tuesday, Nov. 27

“Wellness Works” Exercise Program: 6:30 p.m. The Auburn/Webster Lodge of Elks will be hosting the health series “Wellness Works.” The evening will focus on exercise by dancing to the Wii game, “Just Dance.” This free event is for all ages. All participants will receive a free insulated lunch bag and snack to take with them. 754 Southbridge St.

Friday, Nov. 30

Auburn Tree Lighting: 5:30 p.m. The Town of Auburn will be having its first-ever holiday tree lighting ceremony next to Fire Station Headquarters at Drury Square. The Bryn Mawr and Mary D. Stone elementary school choirs will be singing Christmas carols. In addition, there will be a special guest appearance from Santa. There will be free treats, including hot cocoa, coffee and 300 cookies baked by culinary arts students at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School. 47 Auburn St.

Auburn District II PTO's Holiday Dinner/Charity Auction: 6:30 p.m. The Auburn District II PTO is hosting a dinner and charity auction to benefit the students of Mary D. Stone and Pakachoag schools. Tickets for the evening are $25 per person, which includes dinner, entertainment and live and silent auctions. To purchase tickets, contact Denise Fanion at 508-735-9959 or otsant1@aol.com. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: 7 p.m. The Auburn Community Players 2012 holiday performance is “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” which will be performed Friday and again at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. The performance is described as a “hilarious Christmas tale.” Tickets for the play are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
