AUBURN, Mass. – Thanksgiving food basket distribution, Thanksgiving dinner at the Senior Center, a Thanksgiving Eve church service and Black Friday shopping highlight a busy week in Auburn. For more of what's happening in the area, see our Events page.

Monday, Nov. 19

Thanksgiving Food Basket Distribution: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Auburn Youth and Family Services distribute its Thanksgiving food baskets Monday and Tuesday. Volunteers are needed to help sort food and put together the food baskets. Shifts are 9 a.m. to noon, noon to 3 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Some of the baskets will be delivered to homebound clients. 21 Pheasant Court.

Tuesday, Nov. 20

Thanksgiving Dinner at Senior Center: Noon. Elder Services will have its annual Thanksgiving Dinner. It will feature turkey with stuffing, butternut squash, peas and onions, dinner rolls and chocolate mousse. A $2 donation is appreciated. Auburn Senior Center, 4 Goddard Drive.

Auburn Historical Society Meeting: 6:30 p.m. The featured program for the monthly meeting is “Being a Milkman in Auburn,” with guest speaker Bill Morse. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the museum at 508-832-6856. Auburn Senior Center, 4 Goddard Drive.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

Auburn Community Thanksgiving Service: 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to Auburn's annual ecumenical Thanksgiving service. The Rev. John Gee, pastor of North American Martyrs Church in Auburn, will receive the John E. and Ethel E. Riley Outstanding Citizenship Award at the service. Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave.

Thursday, Nov. 22

Thanksgiving Football Game at Oxford: 10 a.m. The Rockets look to finish a perfect regular season at their annual Thanksgiving game on the road. Auburn is 10-0 and has dominated all season, including its 46-7 win against Westborough on Nov. 9. Oxford is 1-9 on the year. Oxford High School, 495 Main St.

Friday, Nov. 23

Black Friday at Auburn Mall: 12:30 a.m. Auburn Mall will open its doors to launch the holiday shopping season. This marks a change from last year’s 4 a.m. opening for most Simon malls in the region. The mall will remain open until 10 p.m. 385 Southbridge St.
