AUBURN, Mass. – Winter sports action, a PTO meeting and a discussion of what to do with the middle school highlight the events around Auburn this week. For more of what’s happening in the region, see our Events page.

Monday, Jan. 7

Girls Basketball Hosts David Prouty: 7 p.m. The Rockets look to continue their hot start when they face David Prouty High School at home. Auburn High School, 99 Auburn St.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

District 1 PTO Meeting: 7 p.m. The District 1 PTO gets back to work, holding its first meeting of 2013. Bryn Mawr Elementary School, 35 Swanson Road.

Wednesday, Jan. 9

Boys Basketball Faces Leicester: 7 p.m. The boys have also played well so far this season, and they look to keep it up against Leicester High School. Auburn High School, 99 Auburn St.

School Committee Meeting: 7 p.m. The committee will discuss and vote on the fiscal year 2014 budget. Randall School, 5 West St.

Thursday, Jan. 10

School Building Master Plan Meeting: 7 p.m. The Master Plan Team will discuss what to do with the middle school. Randall School, 5 West St.

Friday, Jan. 11

Teen Trivia Night: 5 p.m. Teens can test their knowledge of movies, books, music and more. Registration is required. The event is open to ages 10 to 18. Auburn Public Library, 369 Southbridge St.

Girls and Boys Basketball Doubleheader: 6 and 7:30 p.m. First up is the girls squad taking on Shepherd Hill Regional High School, followed by the boys facing Shepherd Hill. Auburn High School, 99 Auburn St.
