Tuesday, Oct. 9
Fire Department Heads to Pakachoag School: 8:35 to 11:45 a.m. Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 7 to 13, and members of the Auburn Fire Department will spend the week in the schools teaching children about the importance of fire safety at home. The students will learn important skills, such as stop, drop and roll, and how to plan an escape route. Pakachoag School, 110 Pakachoag St.
District 1 PTO Meeting: 7 to 8 p.m. The second meeting for the District 1 PTO will be held. Julia Bancroft School, 3 Vinal St.
Wednesday, Oct. 10
Best of Auburn Business Awards: 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Winners will be announced for the Auburn Chamber of Commerce’s fourth annual Best of Auburn Business Contest at the membership breakfast. The event is free and open to the public. A continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. and the awards ceremony will begin at 8. Fire Department Drops by Bryn Mawr School: 9 to 11:45 a.m. The department’s second stop for Fire Prevention Week. Bryn Mawr School, 35 Swanson Road.
Auburn High School Curriculum Night: 6 to 8 p.m. The high school hosts its annual curriculum night. 99 Auburn St.
Thursday, Oct. 11
“Girl’s Night Out” at Auburn Mall: 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy an evening of free pampering, fun and giveaways at “a night out on the town.” The evening will include elements of fashion, beauty, spa, health and wellness, fitness, nutrition, home design, financial advice and additional displays. Goody bags and raffle prizes will also be given away while supplies last. 385 Southbridge St.
Friday, Oct. 12
Auburn Middle School Dance: 7 to 9:30 p.m. The Student Council will sponsor a sixth-grade dance. Auburn Middle School, 10 Swanson Road.
Pack 53 Popcorn Fundraiser: 4 to 8 p.m. Support the Auburn Pack 53 annual fundraising effort. The money raised from this annual popcorn sale provides the funds to support the many activities, events and overnight trips planned for throughout the year. Walmart, 742 Main St., North Oxford.
