Being in early-season shape for the outdoor track campaign stood Staples teammates Sam Cohen and Reed Geisler in good stead as they went 1-2 in the 5 kilometer section of the Walk/Run to Turn the Corner on Lyme event at Sherwood Island Sunday. "We've had one meet, but this was a nice change of pace before we get into the heart of the season and heavy training," said Cohen.
The third edition of the event also featured a 10 kilometer run around the park, which was won by Sean Mehner of Norwalk in 38:35 and Ann Williams of Old Greenwich in 43:24. Jessica LeBouef of Norwalk won the women's division of the 5 kilometer event in 21:20.
