New Rochelle Business Adds to Downtown District

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – City Life Concepts co-owners Jennifer and Harvey Jones’ new shop in the New Rochelle Downtown Business District offers imported designer furniture for high-end apartment buildings and commercial businesses.

The store’s co-owners said the store’s items bring together characteristics of a big city like The Big Apple and its suburb communities, such as New Rochelle.

“This is the new city,” Harvey said.

The business is more than just a showroom, but rather a community of artists, interior designers, contractors and architects who inspire customers creating spaces for high-end apartment buildings, according to information provided by City Life Concepts.

Jennifer Jones said she and Harvey felt there was a need for small furniture stores in New Rochelle.

The space offers furniture such as couches, tables and chairs. These are displayed throughout the showroom allowing customers and visitors to try out and see what furniture they might be interested in.

“We work with contractors and architects who inspire and inspire you to create beautiful spaces,” Jennifer said. Artwork from local artists is also available for purchase.

The Jones’ business is the second art-type establishment in the downtown, along with New Rochelle District Four City Council member Ivar Hyden’s Backstreet Gallery and Framing.

The New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District said it plans to add more of these spaces as it continues to revive downtown New Rochelle.
