Bozzone, Former South Salem Foreman, Dies at 64

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. - Joseph H. Bozzone, formerly of South Salem, died Feb. 8 at Brooks San Marco Terrace Rehabilitation and Care Center in St. Augustine, Fla. from complications of a stroke suffered two years ago. He was 64. 

A former 30-year resident of South Salem, Bozzone was a retired labor foreman.

He was born Aug. 19, 1947 in New Jersey to the late Salvatore and Helen Bozzone and raised in the Riverdale neighborhood of Bronx, N.Y. Bozzone graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School in Riverdale and later moved to South Salem. 

A union official with Local 48 and member of Local 79, he worked renovations jobs in New York City, including projects at the American Museum of Natural History and the World Trade Center. Bozzone retired in 2000 and spent summers in Bolton Landing, N.Y. and winters in St. Augustine.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Jane Weeks. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Danbury, Conn. in late spring. Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is handling local arrangements in Florida.
