Wilton 8th Grade Blue Falls to Darien

WILTON, Conn. – The Wilton 8th Grade Blue football team lost to Darien Blue, 26-7, in  Fairfield County Football League game Sunday at Wilton.

Jack Ciaccio dragged several Darien defenders on a 9-yard run early in the game and Dylan Burns kept the drive going with a nice run on fourth down. R.J. Romeo had a 25-yard run behind good blocks from Ryan Callaghan and Quinn Reedy.

Later, Wilton made a huge defensive stand and forced Darien to three and out. A poor punt by Darien gave Wilton the ball on the 25-yard line. Michael Brown hit on several passes while defensive blows by Nik Petrov, Thomas McDevitt and Dylan Lewis kept Darien at bay.

In the second half, Dylan Burns’ 90-yard touchdown run got Wilton on the board. He had key blocks from  Joseph Saldutti, David Kim, Nik Petrov, Jonathan Mellana and James Arbisi. Michael Brown's kick was good.

The Warriors mounted another drive, highlighted by key passes to Cory Macdonald, Zach Kaminsky and Thomas McDevitt, but time ran out before the Warrior's could score again.
