Isaac E. Young: Bullying is Not Okay

Isaac E. Young Middle School has a message for schools around Westchester: bullying is not okay. As part of their commitment to the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.), students and teachers continue to demonstrate that bullying will not be tolerated. The culmination of their efforts took place during a rally on the steps of Memorial Plaza several weeks ago.. According to Isaac E. Young Principal Anthony Bongo, a sizeable crowd of onlookers and shop-owners participated in a student rally to raise awareness about school-wide bullying.

“We were quite surprised at the turnout, as we did it last minute,” said Bongo. “It was outdoors, and we really did get a few hundred people there. “

Seventh and Eighth-grade students donned signs touting their bully-free message and handed out bracelets that read “Our school is a bully-free school.”
