AUBURN, Mass. – You can get a free Boston Red Sox T-shirt and a chance to win Red Sox tickets and to walk onto Fenway Park’s infield during pregame festivities if you donate blood in Auburn on Labor Day.
An American Red Cross blood drive takes place Monday, Sept. 3., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Auburn Knights of Columbus Hall, 49 Central St.
Every donor receives a free collectible Red Sox T-shirt and a chance to win two Red Sox tickets for Fenway Park’s 100th season and be honored on the field as the “Red Sox Blood Donor of the Game.”
The “Red Sox Blood Donor of the Game” prize pack is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
According to the Red Cross website, one blood donation can help save up to three lives.
Two types of donations will be accepted Monday – blood donations and double red cell donations.
Donors must be at least 17, weigh 110 pounds, be in good health on the day of the donation and have no history of exposure to hepatitis or HIV/AIDS. There are other health eligibility requirements.
The individual’s last donation must have been more than eight weeks (56 days) ago, and donors must have valid identification, such as a driver’s license, blood donor card, passport, etc.
Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.
